Your aptitude
It shows what you do
You’re so naturally gifted
But sometimes you’ve drifted
From the shore of your talent
That makes you so gallant
Your aptitude
Is one of your moods
It can make you so fearless
But in turn so tearless
As you show what you’re made of
That you’re able to love
Your altitude
I just can’t reach you
Your standards are set so high
To reach them I must fly
Too bad that I am chained down
So why don’t you run down?
Your altitude
Is one of your moods
Oh the goals that you have made
It keeps me so afraid
To know that I’ll never reach
The standards of your siege
Your attitude
If you only knew
The vibe that you have put off
By your scolding and scoffs
And the aura that began
Starting a back-up plan
Your attitude
Is your biggest mood
I just want to slip away
And start a brand new day
When I’m finally free of you
And each and every mood
This set of lyrics I once wrote
is probably the closest to being a poem out of all my lyrics. There is still a
rhythm to the piece though. Each section talks about a different mood. Aptitude
is their way of doing something. Altitude is symbolizing how their standards
are too high. Lastly, their attitude makes up everything about them, whether it
is positive or negative.
