Once there was a
pretty girl
She consumed my
world
And every hour
felt so long
When she was far
and gone
But also at the
same time
Another got my
sign
Unaware she’s mistaken
She needs to
awaken
One girl likes me
but I like another
The first one can’t
move on from me, oh brother
I had to tell her
off; she ran to her mother
And cried, cried …
cried, cried, cried, cried
Cried, cried … cried,
cried, cried, cried
Love can be a mess
sometimes
When you’re
supposed to find
One who is your
second half
One who makes you
laugh
Think I might have
found the one
Don’t want her to
run
Here comes the
moment of truth
To go and talk to
you
The one girl’s
gone but I still like another
She says she doesn’t
feel the same, oh brother
When I heard that,
you know what I discovered?
I died, died …
died, died inside
Died, died … died,
died inside
Well both of the
girls have left
It sure can be a
test
I even let some
tears flow
To watch both
girls go
It can be so hard
to look
At what they have
took
Now I’m trying to
restart
My poor broken
heart
The first is still
gone but so is the other
Now I’m sitting
here alone, oh brother
I know I said I’m
fine and that I recovered
But I lied, lied …
lied, lied, lied, lied
Lied, lied … lied,
lied, lied, lied
That’s the story
of my life
That’s the story
of my life
That’s the story
of my life
I thought up some
of the chorus/reprise one day while in the shower (a great place for pondering
one’s own life). Many people have probably experienced situations like this,
including myself. It seems to go around and around. You like someone but they
don’t like you (or vice versa). It sure can be tough! Keep your hopes up
though; there will be one person out there who will break that cycle.
