Your eyes, they
say that our love may
Have to change
paths I don’t want to
But every night
doesn’t feel right
I want it changed,
I want it to
I have been the
yin
You have been the
yang
I thought that we
were whole
I have been
reserved
Ever since I heard
That we were never
whole
I don’t want to be
a
Forgotten friend,
forgotten friend
Lie down and rest;
is this what’s best?
Do you fear
something will go wrong?
I’m telling you,
you always knew
That nothing will
ever go wrong
I have been the
yin
You have been the
yang
I knew that we
were whole
I’ve been
unreserved
Ever since I heard
That we might
still be whole
Chorus:
I don’t want to be
a
Forgotten friend,
forgotten friend
It’ll be worse if
I’m a
Forgotten friend,
forgotten friend
The sun goes down
and all around
It’s still light
because you’re by me
I’ll keep trying;
you stop crying
I’m next to you,
you’re next to me
I will not disappear
I will always be
here
CHORUS
CHORUS
Believe it or not
but these lyrics were written a long time ago. I found them recently in some of
my stuff. (Fun fact: I apparently based most of the lyrics to the tune of “It
Ends Tonight” by The All-American Rejects.) These words deal with the pain of
loneliness. It is not a physical pain, but an emotional one. No one wants to be
alone permanently.
