The future’s around the corner
But I won’t go and see
You can rest your head on my shoulder
When you are weary
I force myself to try and try
But I can’t pass the test
I’m settling for good when I
Could be having the best
Chorus:
Why won’t the butterflies leave?
Why is my heart on my sleeve?
Fear is like slavery
Give me my bravery now
The future’s right in front of me
I don’t open my eyes
I’m trying to make her notice me
But I end up too shy
My world’s becoming transparent
In a half-empty glass
My love for you is apparent
But I let it pass
CHORUS
I write my thoughts about you down
Then I throw them away
We built it up, I burnt it down
And stayed to watch the flame
When I take one small step away
It feels I’m taking ten
So I feel the need to train and train
So I don’t flee again
You’ve found love
When you can’t focus
Doesn’t mean
That you’ve found courage
CHORUS
CHORUS
Many lyrics I’ve written look at relationships,
because that is what many songs in general talk about. These words focus on an
inward struggle to increase one specific trait: bravery (as the title
suggests). I wonder how many other guys have felt the same at one time.
