Your List

I've heard what you give is what you get
Well that hasn't happened to me yet
I gave my all, I gave it to you
And in return, your heart was untrue

I bite my nails and pull out my hair

It's hard to see you over there
What do you know? Speak of the devil
You've found one who stoops to your level

Climb:

You think you'll kick me when I'm down
But I've made you give up your crown
You think you know what love is like
But you are wrong, you've got three strikes

Chorus:

There's things I do that you don't care for
You overreacted and caused a war
I wanted to talk but you'd resist
Take each of those things and add them to your list
You had me once but I disappeared
Before your controlling smoke had cleared
You never thought that it's me you'd miss
Well all you have now is that stupid list

You were molding me to someone new

Would only change when I was with you
We're not on the same page or the same book
You'd had known that if you had just looked

Come and step to the edge of the edge

That list you made is being a wedge
What's wrong with me? What's wrong with you?
You need to go through what I've gone through

CLIMB

CHORUS

You ran away with him

But when he deserted you
You came running to me
Acting like we're all good

CHORUS

The first two stanzas introduce the concept of these lyrics. The guy was putting more heart into the relationship than his partner. Then the climb and chorus describe the situation even more. His girl basically had a "list" of things that he should change, but ultimately that's all she would end up with.
