One Minute Too Late

I keep on looking for the right moment
I wouldn’t blink incase I missed it
It’s hard to see clearly through the smoke
It’s hard to fix something that’s not broke

Well that one guy…he is so sly
He took her away before I said goodbye

Chorus:
Let the cause take the effect
It takes hearts time to connect
Start giving my heart respect
I was one minute too late
I was one minute too late
One minute too late

The mind can play nasty tricks on you
Do you know all the pain I’ve gone through?
Quit pretending that it was nothing
Quit trying to take away my wings

Well she’s with him…life feels so grim
She has no clue I’ve lost all strength in my limbs

CHORUS

You make me feel like the white rabbit
You make it hard to stop old habits
My watch never feels like the right time
The clock’s hands never seem to align

CHORUS

I was barely too late
To set the record straight
And now I have to wait
One minute too…
One minute too…
One minute too late

So this set of lyrics is supposed to describe how many times we might come close to changing a relationship with someone else, but just come up a tad too late. The first verse can actually apply to many situations in life. But as the rest of the words go, it applies more to relationships.
